It is a major boost for Oyo state security architecture as the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal donated fifty additional operational vehicles to security agencies in the state as part of efforts to enhance and protect lives and properties.
It could be recalled that Governor Makinde’s led administration had since inception of office in 2019, distributed about two hundred (200) vehicles to security agencies to strengthen the security architecture of the state.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the handing over of forty (40) patrol vans to Col (Rtd) Oladipo James Ajibola, the Director-General, Operation Burst on Thursday, the Acting Governor said the distribution is in furtherance of Gov. Seyi Makinde’s policy to protect lives and properties.
He explained that National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC); Nigeria Air-force, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC); Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYRTMA); and other security agencies have also been given operational vehicles.
The acting Governor added that another tranche of vehicles would also be distributed to security agencies across zones in Oyo state as soon as possible to further strengthen the security of the state.
Expressing gratitude over the distribution, the DG Operation Burst, Col. James Ajibola, who commended the Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, for the donation, noted that the security architecture of Oyo state will continue to remain intact.
He further assured that operation burst will continue to be loyal, dedicated, and continue to give their best in ensuring that the issue of crimes and criminalities is reduced to the barest minimum.
Those in attendance included Sectary to the State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo; Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi; Head of Service, Olubunmi Oni mni; Executive Assistant on Security, Cp (Rtd) Sunday Odukoya and other government functionaries.
