Makinde Addresses VDM, Other Protesters, Promises Safe Return of Oriire Abducted Victims

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has expressed readiness to exhaust every option to guarantee safety rescue of the kidnapped children and the teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

Governor Makinde expressed the readiness while addressing group of protesters led by Nigerian social influencial and activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan(VDM) at his private residence, Ikolaba, Ibadan.

The Governor who expressed readiness to join rescue mission that would bring them home, stressed that avoiding further loss of life remains priority, adding that tougher decisions would not be ruled out.

While declaring that the state would not become another Chibok, however said the state government do not have the capacity over the federal security operatives.

The Governor who did not disclose details of the ongoing operation for security reasons, assured them that the current security architecture in the state is capable to secure the release.

Governor Makinde appreciated the protesters for their efforts and peaceful manner they imbibed.

Earlier speaking on behalf of the protesters, VDM, demanded action over the abduction and expressed the readiness of concerned Nigerians to go with the security operatives in the rescue mission.

He also charged the Oyo State government to expedite action on the rescue mission, adding that it must not be another Chibok experience.
