Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has announced his return from a four-week vacation, stating that he is refreshed and ready to continue working for the people of Oyo State.
Governor Makinde who embarked on a four week vacation which started on August 5 to September 6, 2024, transferred his duties to Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal during the period, announced his return to work starting from Monday 9 September, 2024.
In Governor Makinde’s bi-weekly newsletter sent out tonight, he expressed gratitude to the Acting Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, for ensuring the continuity of governance during his absence. He also thanked those who sent prayers and responses to his previous emails.
“We have some pending decisions to take, especially with the recent increase in fuel price. Rest assured that whatever decisions we take will be in the best interests of our people and the Oyo State economy,” Governor Makinde said.
He further hinted at upcoming projects in the agribusiness and tourism sectors, stating that they will be flagged off and commissioned in October. “They are projects that we all will be proud of,” he assured.
Governor Makinde also shared his current read, “The Situation Room—The Inside Story of Presidents in Crisis” by George Stephanopoulos, promising to share his thoughts on it in the coming weeks.
As he resumed office, Governor Makinde expressed optimism, saying, “May we never lose real hope.” He promised to continue working for the people of Oyo State and to keep them updated on his activities.
In his newsletter, the governor expressed that he will tackle pressing issues, including the recent fuel price increase, and to launch new projects aimed at boosting the state’s economy.
