Makinde Approves Concessionary Promotions for Civil Servants

The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has approved the concessionary promotions for officers who missed the 2017-2020 promotions due to inadequate vacancies.

The state government according to a statement by the Chairman, Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Oyo State, Mr Kamoru Abíọ́dún Adéríbigbé, the governor granted the 2019 and 2020 promotions this month.

The chairman described the governor’s magnanimity as unprecedented in the history of civil/public service of Oyo State.

Recall that the commission had already promoted thousands of workers within the available vacancies in 2017-2020 promotion exercise on the approval of the governor in year 2021.

Aderibigbe thanked the governor for approving the concessionary promotions, saying he is a man of honour who always fulfils his promises.

He assured the affected officers to benefit from the concessionary promotions across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS) of government that they will receive their letters of promotion before the end of January, 2023.

He, therefore, charged them to reciprocate the governor’s good gesture with quality performances that would ensure that good governance in the state continues till 2027 and beyond.
