Makinde Approves N100 Million for Oyo College of Education, Urges Staff to End Strike Action

The Oyo state governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has ordered the release of N100 million to settle some of the challenges confronting Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate.

Makinde, who made this known on Friday during a working visit to the institution, has assured that N50 million will be released immediately while the remaining N50 million will be granted in the middle of the year.

The working visit of the governor was to ascertain the level of development at the Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate in Ibarapa East Local Government.

Meanwhile, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde has appealed to the staff of the institution to call off its strike, as issues raised will be adequately addressed.

Receiving the governor and his entourage, the Chairman Governing Council of the College, Captain Bisi Ojebola (rtd.), solicited the support of the state government in moving the college forward.

Others who spoke at the occasion included representative of teaching and non teaching staff and Students Union President of the institution, Comrade Alao Quadri who urged Governor ‘Seyi Makinde to take urgent step towards finding lasting solution to problems confronting the institution.
