Makinde Approves Release of 2021 Promotion Letters to Over 2000 LG Staff

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has given his approval for the release of promotion letters to over 2000 qualified local government staff. These staff members successfully completed the promotion exercise conducted by the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission. This announcement was made by Hon Aderemi Ayodele, the chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, at his office in Ibadan.

Hon Aderemi Ayodele stated that the beneficiaries of the promotion letters include professionals and sub-professionals from various departments across all 33 local governments and 35 Local Council Development Areas in Oyo State. He further mentioned that the promotion letters are ready and will be dispatched to the respective local governments.

Hon Aderemi Ayodele expressed his appreciation to Governor Makinde for promptly approving the release of the promotion letters. He described it as a positive incentive and a sign of more good things to come from Governor Makinde’s administration. He encouraged local government staff in Oyo State to remain dedicated and optimistic about the future.

Highlighting Governor Makinde’s commitment to workers’ welfare, Hon Aderemi Ayodele recalled that eligible local government staff with four years of promotion arrears from 2017-2020 were promoted with full financial benefits during the first term of Governor Makinde’s administration. He also mentioned that the local government service received a boost through capacity building programs, and salaries, allowances, leave, and end-of-year bonuses were promptly paid despite the economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hon Ayodele expressed his belief that the issue of promotion backlogs would soon be resolved in the civil service of Oyo State, as workers will receive their promotions as and when due.

Furthermore, Hon Aderemi Ayodele reminded the workers of the need to reciprocate Governor Makinde’s workers-friendly approach by rededicating themselves to their duties.
