Makinde Commissions N100m Edifice Donated to Ibadan Golf Club, Charges Golfers on Political Consciousness

The Oyo state governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has on Saturday commissioned a newly built ultra modern administrative building, donated by Mr Abiodun Olatunji, SAN to the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC).

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi who was the special guest of honour at the event, the governor commended the facility donor, Mr Abiodun Olatunji, SAN for delivering such a massive project despite economic challenges that have befallen the nation.

The event which was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, also featured many side attractions and award presentations.

Makinde further congratulated members of the golf club for having special breeds like the donor as a member, while emphasising that act of kindness is a gift and not skill.

The number one Oyo citizen equally lauded Ibadan golfers for supporting his administration, noting that as a bona fide member of the club, he is making them proud by bringing dividend of democracy closer to the people in the nook and crannies of the state.

He also used the occasion to charge people to be politically conscious and active, by obtaining their permanent voters card in order to vote for leaders that will ensure we all have a Nigeria of our dream.

The donor, Mr Abiodun Olatunji, SAN during his remarks appreciated Governor ‘Seyi Makinde for allowing enabling environment and for also making healthy decision during the advent of COVID-19, as his decision on partial lockdown has great impact on the construction of the building.

Some of those who also attended the commissioning were: Captain of the Club, Mr Tunji Oladosu, widow of late past Captain of Ibadan Golf Club, Mrs. Bimbo Osin-Ibironke, Otunba Abimbola Davis, Mr Abiodun Olatunji, Engineer Sunday Gbenjo and the Orangun of Oke Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin among others.
