Makinde Commissions World Class Health Facilities in State Hospital, Promises to Sponsor Health Insurance Registration for 500 Residents

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde on Friday commissioned some sophisticated health care facilities at the Adeoyo State Hospital, Ring Road Ibadan.

While commissioning the projects within the premises of the state hospital, the Governor thank God Almighty for completion of the project, which he noted has always been part of the goals of his administration.

At Adeoyo, his Excellency commissoned;
( 1) Renal Dialysis Centre
(2) High Dependency Unit
(3) Radiology Department ( X-RAY) as well as Diabetes Screening and Treatment Centre.

Also, Governor Makinde however paid a visit to 5 newly renovated Primary Healthcare Centers, PHCs in the city.

The PHCs he visited were Irefin Babasale PHC, Odo Ona Elewe PHC, Elebu PHC, Oke Are PHC and Ikumapayi PHC.

During his visit to Elebu, the Governor noted that Primary Health Center was short-staffed and pledged to ensure that the Healthcare Centre was duly staffed before the commissioning of the project.

He said: “From my inspection, the physical building is ready. We must get the staffing right and I’ve inquired from them that before I commissioned this place there has to be a sustainable template. I don’t want a shady job done whereby the only time you would find members of staff on the premises is when the governor visits”.

The governor added that he would personally sponsor 500 residents to register for the health insurance as the OYSHA had earlier informed that 500 individuals in the community have registered for health insurance.

“I personally, not the government, will also provide money for another 500 residents. So, leaders and elders in this community, take charge. Provide 500 names not based on political party affliation. Make it based on the community. Once I have the 500 names, I will pay”, Makinde stated.
