The Executive Governor of Oyo State ‘Seyi Makinde has expressed his sincere gratitude to the people, chiefs and traditional rulers of Ibarapaland for counting him and his wife worthy of the Aare and Yeye Atayese of Ibarapaland title.
The governor, who alongside his wife, Engr. (Mrs) Tamunominini was named and installed as Aare Atayese and Yeye Aare of Ibarapaland, respectively, made this known while giving his appreciation remarks during the installation rites.
The installation rites were performed at the palace of Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh alongside other traditional monarchs from all the seven towns in Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.
In his remarks, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde who was elated at his installation as Aare Atayese of Ibarapaland and that of his wife as Yeye Atayese of Ibarapaland, noted that the proper ceremony and installation will be done officially on his next visit.
“When we are coming to Ibarapaland for local government to local government campaign, we are going to accommodate installation of our new honour and traditional title.
“We really appreciate all traditional chiefs and rulers in Ibarapaland for the title Aare Atayese of Ibarapaland.
“I’m highly honoured and appreciate this guesture. The title is an appreciation towards our developmental efforts and this will spur us to do more”, he added.
In attendance at the ceremony was the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, Gbadamosi Hameed, Taofeek Arapaja, Mutiat Ladoja.
In the meantime, others included Saka Balogun, Monsurat Summonu, Segun Ogunwuyi, Ijaya, Rita Orji, Olasunkanmi Tegbe, National Assembly candidates and hosts of others.
