Makinde Guiding Oyo State in the Right Direction — Hon Dooshima

As the nation celebrates democracy day in honour of the Late M.K.O Abiola, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has been showered accolades for his steady hand at the helm of Oyo State affairs, and for the several instances he has demonstrated his ability to lead Oyo State in the right direction.

This message was communicated in a Democracy day statement shared by Hon. Josephine Dooshima Aneh, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Inter-governmental Affairs and the Northern States liaison officer.

In the statement, she commended Governor Makinde for creating an atmosphere of merit and competency in Oyo State where a member of any tribe can be a part of his government.

The statement read: “ Democracy Day celebration in the face of the myriads of challenges facing the country is for Saying No to rascality in Governance.”

“What we are witnessing today at the centre is utter disregard for true tenets of democracy but luckily, Oyo state is blessed with a man who seems not to be deterred in his relentless quest to build a legacy of strengthening democratic institutions within the state, ultimately reflecting in the disposition of the Governor on critical issues such as religion and ethnicity which has hitherto, divided the nation along parallel lines.”

“Seyi Makinde has become a rallying point for all ethnic groups giving equal opportunities to all residents capable of making meaningful contributions to the advancement of the state.”

Hon. Dooshima also mentioned the several projects executed by the governor during her first two years in office, especially the recent Moniya-Iseyin road project, in her statement.

“Democratic governments all over the world prioritize the wellbeing of the citizens, making visible efforts to be at the heart of the needs of the people. Makinde has demonstrated that awareness through his famed four pillars Education, Health, Security and expansion of the Economy through an improved food chain.”

“The Governor has performed wonderfully well in their spheres and beyond, with all residents of Oyo state feeling the impact and presence of Government in their domains.”
