Makinde to Name LAUTECH’s Lecture Theatre after Late Aseyin

The late Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganly Adekunle Oloogunebi, who passed away a few months ago, will be remembered forever as the Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde is set to honour the late Aseyin of Iseyin by naming a lecture theatre hall in the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology’s Iseyin Campus after the late monarch.

At a meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party’s consultative and stakeholders for Oke Ogun Zone 1 held in Iseyin on Thursday, Makinde Makinde made the commitment. Representatives from Kajola, Iwajowa, Itesiwaju, and Iseyin attended the meeting.

Governor Makinde had earlier claimed that the late Monarch signed the agreement establishing the school while he was hospitalised at University College Hospital.

“During my campaign, I promised to situate a higher institution of learning here.

“And, today, it is a work in progress as I went to inspect the site today. I will sign the lecture theatre project in the facility and tell the Governing Council to name it after Oba Abdulganly Adekunle Oloogunebi.

“When we come for the commissioning, you will all see the name there.

“This is the first time I will be in this Hall, and I think it does not befit Iseyin, but we will upgrade it. The Chairman should look for a contractor from Iseyin and bring it to me in Ibadan, and I will approve it.”

Deputy Governor, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Sen. Hosea Agboola, Sen. Monsurat Summonu, and Hon Rita Or were among those present at the ceremony.
