Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has unveiled a new Trademark, aimed at promoting the state’s agricultural identity and enhancing the market value of its produce.
The unveiling took place at the Oyo State International Agribusiness Summit 2025, themed; Expanding Oyo State’s Economy Through Agricultural Industrialization held at IITA in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde stated that the trademark is designed to generate employment, attract investment, support farmers, and boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.
He emphasized that industrialization is crucial for achieving inclusive economic growth and has been a key focus of his administration.
The Governor called for a strategic recalibration of the state’s economic approach, stressing the need to prioritize export opportunities alongside import substitution.
In their goodwill messages, foreign dignitaries, including the Ambassador of Belgium to Nigeria and the Consul General of Denmark, commended Governor Makinde’s innovative approach to agribusiness and pledged stronger partnerships.
Earlier in his welcome address, Director-General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, OYSADA, Dr. Debo Akande, noted that the state has taken a significant step towards an exciting future of opportunities in industrial agriculture, geared towards food security, economic growth, and overall development.
The Governor, accompanied by other dignitaries, toured the exhibition stands at the summit, which brought together global, national, and local stakeholders to explore the next frontier of agricultural industrialization in the West African sub-region.
