Man Beats Pregnant Wife to Death in Saki

A pregnant woman was reportedly beaten to death by her husband in Saki area of Oke-Ogun, Oyo state of Nigeria.

It was gathered that the young woman, Nimatalahi Giwa, who was in her early 30s; drew her last breath after being seriously beaten by her husband, identified as Azeez.

The deceased was said to have been trying to escape beatings from her aggressive husband, when she fell and was initially neglected by him.

Moments later when she couldn’t rouse herself, she was rushed to the hospital where she later died after 3 hours.

Report has it that Nimatalahi was eight months pregnant, and had been abused multiple times in the past, before she later met her untimely death. However, the reason(s) she was often abused was not stated.

Residents in the environs also disclosed that Nimatalahi had once lost a pregnancy due to domestic violence from her husband and that her husband Azeez, who is in his early 40s was well known by neighbours and family, as a wife beater.

As at press time, nobody can ascertain the whereabouts of her husband.
