The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC), on Monday, called on the Oyo state government to support the agency in its fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state.
The appeal was made by the Director-General of the agency, Professor Christiana Adeyeye, who led the South-West delegation of (NAFDAC) on a courtesy call to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, at his office in Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Mrs. Adeyeye, who used the occasion to intimate governor Makinde on the challenges facing the agency in the state, affirmed NAFDAC’s readiness to partner with the Oyo state government in fighting against drug abuse and trafficking.
In his remark, Governor Seyi Makinde, expressed his delight in receiving the delegation in his office. And expressed the state readiness to partner with NAFDAC in order to ensure adequate food and drug security in the state.
The Governor, however, directed the secretary to the State government, Mrs. Olubanwo Adeosun to oversee the various requests made by the NAFDAC Director-General and get back to the agency in due course.
