No Going Back on Oyo Local Government Elections – Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN

The Special Counsel to the Oyo state Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN, has said the proposed Local Government Elections in the state will hold without a setback or hindrance from the legal end.

Chief Ayorinde Stated this in a chat with Oyo Affairs correspondent, this Tuesday when quizzed on the Court Cases which may become a stumbling block to the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.

The Senior Advocate emphasized that the local government elections will hold, with the claim that there is no judgment that prevents the upcoming election despite several cases on local government elections in court.

While speaking on the closure of Nigerian-owned shops in Ghana, Ayorinde, SAN, an Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) and Counsel for Nigeria and Multi-National Companies at International Arbitrations and Cross border Litigation, advised that the federal government should send a special envoy to countries where Nigeria Bilateral and diplomatic relationships are being threatened.

It would be recalled that Ghana became Nigeria’s biggest trade partner in 2019 while the reverse became the case in 2020 with Ghanaian authorities demanding cash payment of $1million from Nigerian traders in Accra before they could operate their businesses.
