NRC Denies Stoppage of Lagos-Ibadan Train Due to Lack of Fuel

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has reacted to the reports which surfaced online following the sudden stoppage of a Lagos-Ibadan train during its journey yesterday, denying that the train stopped due to fuel shortage.

According to the Spokesperson for the Corporation, Mahmoud Yakubu, the circulated reason for the said stoppage was a false narrative.

He said, “That news is completely fake; how will fuel get exhausted in a locomotive? Our services have not been interrupted, train services continue, forget about train stoppage or not, the most important thing is that train services continue. Our train is working perfectly.”
