Olojede, OYSACA sensitize Poly Ibadan students to HIV/AIDS menace

The Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Students Affairs, Honorable Victor Olojede has partnered with the Oyo State Agency for the Control of Aids to organize an HIV/AIDS sensitization and awareness program for Polytechnic, Ibadan students.



The sensitization program started at 10 am on 17 June 2021 and had the dean of students, several lecturers and students from various faculties in attendance at the Polytechnic Assembly Hall.


At the event, the SA announced the formation of an HIV/AIDS club which would be a platform to enlighten students of the polytechnic about the virus. He also added that the sensitization program would not be limited to just the Polytechnic but will eventually be extended to all state-owned tertiary institutions in Oyo state.



He praised the first lady of Oyo state, Mrs Tamunominni Makinde who is also the OYSACA chairperson for approving the partnership and stated that in addition to the initiative spreading to all Oyo State-owned tertiary institutions, the HIV/AIDS clubs that would be formed in them would all be supported and supervised by OYSACA.



At the program, the students were sensitized about safe sex by the OYSACA staff who also distributed condoms to the students after the event. The Polytechnic SUG president, Comrade Fadare Blessing thanked the Oyo State Government for starting the initiative at their school after the event and expressed his hopes for a fruitful sensitization program.
