Olubadan Appoints Ex-NUJ Chair as Chief Press Secretary

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Olakunlehin has approved the appointment of a past chairman of the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Olugbemiga Ayoade as his Chief Press Secretary.

His appointment was conveyed in a letter dated August 29, 2024, and signed by Prince Olasunmbo Olakulehin on behalf of the monarch.

According to the statement, Ayoade was born into the Taiwo Ariyibi Dynasty of E8/215, Eleruko compound, Oke Ofa Baba Isale.

It was gathered that Ayoade holds a Diploma in Mass Communication from the Ibadan Polytechnic, a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology (1989), and a master’s in Sociology (1995) from the University of Ibadan.

He served and retired from the Oyo State Civil Service as Director Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilisation in the Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.

As a core professional, Ayoade has held several key positions in the NUJ, including Financial Secretary, Ministry of Information NUJ Chapel, Treasurer, Vice-Chairman, and Chairman of the Oyo State NUJ Chapter.

At the national level, he served as a member of the 7-man committee on Insurance Policy for journalists in Nigeria.

Currently, he is the chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the Oyo State NUJ.
