Open Salawu Dumps APC, Donates N10m Forms’ Fee to Supporters

A former Special Adviser on Works to the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Engineer Mufutau Open Salawu, has on Monday resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Open Salawu, the Babalaje of Ogbomoso land, who made this known in a statement made available to newsmen, has also announced his intentions to donate the ten million naira meant for the purchase of the party’s House of Representatives forms, to his supporters within Ogbomoso.

Recall that Open Salawu was an aspirant of the party for Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire Federal Constituency Seat.

The Waziri Jari Nupe urged all right thinking people to rise and participate in active politics, adding that until then people may not get the desired results.

In the meantime, Open Salawu has promised that his next political moves would be announced soon.

The statement read: “Today I resigned my membership of APC. Having looked closely with the situation of the party, I hereby ceased to be party to the undemocratic process.

“I joined APC in 2014 and since then, I have always been a financial and active member until now. I have decided to give my supporters within Ogbomoso North, South and Orire L.G.A the sum of 10,000,000 (ten million naira), that I ought to have used to purchase my nomination form for the House of Representatives in APC.

“I encourage all right thinking people of our dear country to rise and participate in active politics, until then we may not get the desired and deserved results. My next political moves shall be announced soon.

“Thank you and God bless Nigeria”, the statement added.
