Lawmakers Unanimously Endorse Minister of Power’s Ambition, Call for Party Unity
Members of the House of Representatives from Oyo State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have thrown their weight behind Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s gubernatorial ambition ahead of the 2027 elections.
The endorsement took place during a high-level meeting at the Minister of Power’s office in Abuja, attended by six out of the eight APC federal lawmakers from the state. Apologies were conveyed on behalf of one absent lawmaker currently abroad.
Adelabu’s Vision for Oyo State
Adelabu formally announced his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election under the APC banner, urging the lawmakers to support his mission to reposition Oyo State for accelerated growth.
Lawmakers Laud Minister’s Track Record
In a unified response, the legislators pledged full backing, hailing Adelabu’s ambition as a strategic move to reclaim the state from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). They commended his transformative leadership in the power sector, citing his innovative policies and international recognition.
Call for APC Reconciliation
The lawmakers emphasised the need for genuine reconciliation among Oyo APC stakeholders, warning that internal divisions could jeopardise the party’s chances in 2027.
