Oyo Government Set to Sponsor Scorpion’s Title Defense

The ‘Seyi Makinde-led administration is set to sponsor the title defense bout of Ridwan Oyekola, fondly called “Scorpion” against France National Title Holder, Kevin Escanez on Saturday June 19, 2021, in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Popular Ibadan based sports Journalist; Kenny Ogunmiloro recently quoted Scorpion’s Promoter Sola Ayodele Afod, saying; “another title defense is coming to Ibadan.

Ridwan Oyekola Scorpion will soon be travelling to Ghana to strengthen his preparations ahead of his title defense, Afod revealed.

The bout’s location has not yet been revealed but it is very likely that the bout will be held at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex or the Ilaji sport Resort center both in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Scorpion’s title challenge is coming 5 months after he outpunched Argentinian challenger Lucas Matias Montesino in December 2020, to become the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Super Featherweight champion at the Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resort, Ibadan.
