Oyo Governor, Makinde to Bag 2022 “Akoni Oodua” Award

Oodua Youth Coalition, a socio-cultural youth organisation committed to the promotion and mentorship of excellent youths in the area of leadership, governance, and management, would at their forthcoming annual public lecture decorate the Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde as the AKONI OODUA of the year 2022.

In a statement signed by the president of the youth group, Comrade Oluyi Tayo, the award is in the light of the governor’s commitment to educational development and promotion of the youths as demonstrated in his choice of youthful appointees.

This include, but not limited to the appointment of a Sports Commissioner amongst several other productive youth, who have been afforded the opportunity to serve.

The statement partly read: “Based on the foregoing and your dedication towards promoting the Yoruba core values, the group wishes to inform you of our plan to confer on you the “AKONI OODUA” award at our 5th Annual Public lecture themed; BUILDING THE BRIDGE INTO TOMORROW, THE CHALLENGES AND PROSPECT.

“The event is scheduled to hold on November 3, 2022, at the International Conference Centre Ibadan.

“The Oodua Youth Coalition Annual public lecture is one of the organisation’s programmes designed to assemble its teeming members for an intellectual engagement that focuses on proffering solutions to the problem of nation-building.

“This year’s lecture will have Barr. Eyitayo Jegede and Prof. Adeolu Akande, Chairman NCC as guest speakers and Rt Hon. Debo Ogundoyin as keynote speaker, will do justice to the topic and would be transmitted live to all our members and the general public across the globe”, the statement added.
