Oyo Govt. Declares Monday as Public Holiday to Celebrate Hijrah

Oyo state government has announced Monday, August 1st, 2022 as public holiday by the Oyo State Government, to commemorate the new Islamic Year – Hijrah 1444 AH.

This was made known by Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, the Secretary to the Oyo State Government via a circular letter dated July 28th, 2022 and titled, “Declaration of Work-Free Day to Mark Hijrah 1444AH’.

In the circular, Governor Seyi Makinde enjoined all and sundry to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity and sustainability of the state in particular and the nation in general.
