Oyo Govt Moves for Collaborative Efforts with NERC For Electricity Market Transition

The Oyo State Government has actively seek to enhance its regulatory capabilities in the electricity sector through a collaborative initiative with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

A delegation from Oyo State, who represented Hon Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources in the state, Barrister Seun Ashamu, engaged with NERC officials in Abuja as part of an ongoing Peer Learning and Twinning programme.

The visit aims to facilitate a smooth transition of regulatory oversight of the electricity market from NERC to the Oyo State Government.

During this week, the Oyo State delegates will participate in interactive sessions with various NERC divisions, including Legal, Licensing and Compliance, Engineering and Performance Monitoring, Market Competitions, and Rates.
