Oyo Govt Reiterates Commitment Towards Ensuring Stable Power Supply

….Urge Residents to Protect Power Facilities

The Oyo State Government has reiterated its commitment towards ensuring a stable and steady power supply to enhance the economic and commercial activities of the people.

This is as it called on residents of the state to adequately protect power facilities in their environments so as to prevent power outage caused by stolen facilities and ensure a steady supply of power.

The State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu made this call while inspecting the completed Awe Energy facility at the Rural Community Development Centre in Oyo town, the 132/133/11kva substation also in Oyo town and the ongoing light-up project in Oyo and Ibadan, the State capital.

The Energy Commissioner reiterated the readiness of the Seyi Makinde led administration to revamp the economic and commercial activities in Oyo State through a steady power supply which he said remained the reliable economic backbone anywhere in the world.

He said, “The economic growth of our dear State is on the rise and the present administration has hinged this development on the adequate power supply to the people.

“We are working round the clock, with other stakeholders in the power sector to use electricity to promote the economy, using the national power grid and solar system.

“Small scale, medium scale businesses and big industries rely on the steady power supply to survive and make a profit, we are using this angle to make it possible.”

Ashamu noted with delight that the campaign promises of the present administration have been delivered to the letter and subsequently called on the people to support Governor Seyi Makinde in his mission to move Oyo state forward.
