Oyo Guber Candidate, Sharafadeen Alli Appeals to Kidnappers to Show Mercy and Release Abducted Oyo Corps Members

The 2027 Oyo APC gubernatorial Candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli has urged those responsible for the abduction to recognise the sanctity of human life, and prayed for the safe return of all the abducted corps members.

The 20 graduates who were travelling from Ibadan to their respective NYSC orientation camps on Thursday when gunmen reportedly attacked the two buses conveying them along the Owerri-Onitsha Road in Umunoha, Imo State.

Alli expressed solidarity with the families of the victims, who he said are “living in unbearable fear and anxiety,” and urged them to remain calm while security agencies work to bring their loved ones home.

He also urged security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims safely, and called for stronger security along major inter-state routes, particularly those frequently used by prospective corps members, to prevent a repeat of the incident.

“No Nigerian should have to fear for their life while travelling for education, employment or national service,” he said.
