Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested no fewer than three suspects in connection with armed robberies in the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Olayinka Ayanlade, made the disclosure in a statement issued on Monday noted that the suspected armed robbers were arrested in Sabo-Mokola area of Ibadan, the state capital.

The suspects, according to him, are Tomiwa Ayomide, Haruna Kabiru and Haruna Hassan.

Ayanlade added that items recovered from the suspects included one single-barrel, locally made cut-to-size gun and seven cartridges adding that the suspects are still in police custody.

Ayanlade said: “Acting on credible intelligence regarding the activities of suspected armed robbers operating from a hideout within the Sabo-Mokola area of Ibadan, operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit conducted a coordinated raid on the identified apartment in the early hours of the day.

“During the operation, three suspects identified as Tomiwa Ayomide, Haruna Kabiru and Haruna Hassan were arrested. A search conducted at the scene led to the recovery of one single-barrel, locally made cut-to-size gun and seven cartridges.”
