The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has decorated 58 newly-promoted officers.

7 of the officers were promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptroller of Immigration and 6 were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration.

The NIS State Comptroller, Adepeju Lawal stated that the promotion would serve as a motivation to the 58 officers, as motivation for good work and their colleagues, as it would push them to reach those heights as well, and urged the promoted officers to live up to expectations by being dutiful.

Victoria Oyoyo, a newly-promoted DCI spoke on behalf of the other officers and said the promotion was a call to higher responsibilities.

She said, “I am very grateful to God for this promotion and I use this opportunity to appreciate everyone who supported us to make this day a reality.”

“Promotion comes with enormous responsibilities. We promise not to disappoint the service. We also promise to put in our best efforts and carry out our duties as required to justify the promotion.”
