OYSIEC Voting: “We Will Accept Driver’s License, National ID Card..”

The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has stated that only four other documents aside from Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) can be used by voters to cast their ballot in the forthcoming elections. According to them, voters who don’t have their PVC can use their National ID card, Driver’s License, International Passport, or Temporary Voters Card to confirm their identity.

The OYSIEC Chairman, Mr. Isiaka Olagunju had earlier shared the acceptable documents for voting in the elections and this time, he also added that it was necessary for the name of the voters in the voting register to match the name on the identifying documents.

He further added that the list of voters will be displayed at all 33 LGAs in Oyo State and that members of the Security agencies in the state will be present at all LGAs to ensure that the election laws are enforced to the letter.

The local government elections are slated for May 22.
