PDP aspirants contesting for the post of House of Assembly under Ibadan South East Constituency I, have at a roundtable meeting held on Saturday, May 7, 2022; resolved to collectively resist the imposition of an aspirant over them.
While deliberating on issues of constituency importance, the aspirants emphasised that they would prefer to go for primaries slated for May 18 according to the party’s timetable, in order to allow a level playing ground for all aspirants.
In a communique released and signed by the nine Ibadan South East Constituency I aspirants, they resolved as follow:
“(a)That we stand against the imposition and selection of the imposed aspirant
(b)That we all agreed to go to primaries on the 18th of May, 2022 as stipulated in our party time table.
“We are hereby calling on the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency ‘Seyi Makinde to intervene in our matter before things go sour. We are also calling on our great Constituency leader in person of Ambassador Taofeek Oladeji Arapaja (Deputy National chairman south), to give all the aspirants a level playing ground to go to real transparent primaries and allow the most popular and acceptable candidate emerge.
“We the undersigned nine aspirants agreed to work together with whosoever that emerges at primaries and we shall support the second term ambition of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and work together as well with our Great Leader, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and the rest of the leaders in our constituency.”
Meanwhile, the nine aspirants include — Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi, Adeojo Monsor, Oladimeji, Saheed Owonifaari, Hon Rasak Abdullahi, Bello Mudijat Folasade, Sulaimon Saheed Kobiowu, Adegoke, Bolaji Okoki, Olatunbosun Adekunle and Olaide Adedeji.
