PDP Elders Committee Report: Be Patient, Goodies Will Come – Makinde Assures Members

Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who are nursing displeasure against Seyi Makinde, have been told to be patient by the Governor, he said they will still get all the benefits they’ve been expecting from him and his government.

This emerged after 48 hours after the news of the Dr. Saka Balogun-led reconciliation committee got into the limelight.

The Elders Steering Committee of the PDP final report in Oyo State had projected their unhappiness of party members against the Governor, their report contained keynotes like being sidelined and not getting compensation for their activities in making the victory of Makinde a reality at the 2019 governorship election.

Makinde, gave this speech of patience during the swearing-in ceremony of Mr. Lawal Ayansiju as the state commissioner, on Tuesday, convincing his party members that he will fulfill their desires as soon as there is a window for it.

He said: “I will like to seize this opportunity to tell some of our people who are still angry because the goodies have not gotten to them that patience is the watchword.

“You will get them; you will keep moving. Surely, as opportunities present themselves, we will bring the people on board.”

The event took place at the executive governor’s office where the governor declare openly that the newly sworn-in Lawal Ayansiju is to serve as the pristine Commissioner for Establishment and Training.

He accordingly transferred Professor Dahud Sangodoyin, who previously held the portfolio, to the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport.

The position of Commissioner of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport still lies vacant since August 10th, 2020, when the governor laid off Professor Raphael Afonja.
