Ayodele Fayose; prominent factional PDP party leader has referred to Oyo state Governor; Engr. Seyi Makinde as his leader in the party to the amazement of party stalwarts today at the PDP Southwest regional congress in Oshogbo, Osun state.
Speaking before voting started, Fayose acknowledged that “Seyi Makinde is my leader. He is our leader and remains our leader. Enemies should not come in between us because we are one.”
Fayose further declared that he’s using the opportunity the congress has given him to seek forgiveness from anybody who might have been offended by his words or actions in the past.
“The burning issue in PDP is circumstantial. Who is our leader? Seyi Makinde is our leader. Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola is our leader. Segun Oni is our leader and whatever the outcome of the elections may be, I will accept it in good manner.
Also speaking at the event, Governor Makinde described the voting process as an internal family affair and enjoined all party members to trust the decision and outcome of the voting process without disturbing the party’s peace.
“We are to reposition the party and whatever the outcome, it will be taken as family affairs. At the end of the exercise, there will be no victor, no loser and whoever that wins will have my support and I will work with him.”
