PHOTOS: Oyo First Lady to Partner With Security Agencies to Curb Gender-Based Violence

The wife of Oyo state governor, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde has stressed the need to tackle domestic violence, not only among the women folk but both genders, with the support of security agents.

Mrs. Makinde said this while receiving the Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, and FRSC Commander in the state, Uche Chukwura in her office.

Mrs. Makinde said she is ready to partner with security agencies in the state, on the need to create community awareness on security issues, domestic violence, and other forms of violence against women.

She therefore used the opportunity to call on community leaders and other stakeholders, to join hands with the state security agents by reporting issues relating to domestic violence to the commissioner of police, whose office is open to such complaints.

In her remarks, the State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko said the purpose of the visit was to intimate the wife of the governor, with the fact that the police is out to secure the state.

Also present during the visit was the State Commander, FRSC, Uche Chukwura, who commended the State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde for ensuring that the roads are motorable.
