Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, the son of a former governor of Oyo state, has apologised to a radio caller and other pensioners in the state for the failure of the Late Abiola Ajimobi led government, to pay their monthly pension on a regular basis.
Dapo, who represented Ibadan Northeast/ Southeast Federal Constituency from 2015 to 2019 tendered the apology on IBR 92.5 during a political programme, “Bottom Line” anchored by Anu Omorinde.
One of the callers on the programme, Mr. Adeyemo asked why the former commissioner (Dapo) kept quiet when the administration of Late Abiola Ajimobi refused to pay pensioners, adding that the present administration of Makinde is paying.
In response, Hon. Dapo said, “First of all, let me apologise on behalf of the Late Ajimobi, please forgive and forget his shortcomings. Let’s also remember the good areas where he performed well. It is not good to speak ill of the dead. I am sure he will be remembered for the good things he did for the state.
“I want to advise Governor Seyi Makinde to learn from the mistakes of his predecessors and do things in the right way”, he added.
While comparing Adebayo Adelabu and Senator Teslim Folarin, Dapo said, “I envy Adelabu, I wish I could be like him. Someone who has first class and so on. He calls me too but not like Senator Teslim Folarin who talks to me everyday like a father. Folarin is a smart politician, I will pick him over Adelabu.
