Primary Elections: Ojo Makanjuola ‘SMATO’ Emerges PDP Candidate for Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency

The delegates from Ogooluwa/Surulere federal constituency have elected Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola popularly known as ‘SMATO’ as the flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at the forthcoming general election.

At the primary election held on Sunday, 22nd May 2022, the party delegates numbered to be sixty (60) voted where Hon. Sunday had fifty-five (55) and was declared winner of the contest, OYOMIND gathered.

It will be recalled that the party stakeholders, to ensure that all hands are on deck had made moves to introduce consensus to select the party candidate.

At the meeting held on Saturday, 2nd April 2022, twelve (12) out of the twenty-two (22) stakeholders voted in favour of SMATO.

Speaking after the election, the stakeholders unanimously appealed to other aspirants to work with the winner to make the party come out victorious at the general election.

The delegates on the other hand appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for the privilege given to allow them to decide who their representative is without any external force.

Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola is likely to slog it out with the serving House of Representatives member, Hon. Odebunmi Oluwasegun ‘BUNVIC’ of the All Progressives Congress at the general election.
