Residents of Efun area, in Olaogun community are appealing to the Oyo State government, to as a matter of urgency evacuate a dead mad man’s body in the area.
Considering the health hazard and environmental pollution consequences that it might cause the community, the people are urging the concerned authorities to clear up the situation soonest, as the body had remained there for over 24 hours.
It was gathered that the mentally deranged man was found dead in a drainage close to a primary school (Loveday Nursery and Primary School) very early on Monday morning.
Efun Area, Olaogun community is under Egbeda LGA, Ibadan.
According to eyewitnesses’ account, the man was said to have been seen alive last week, though walking naked but he appeared to be weak and wobbly. Some good Samaritan in the area who saw him reportedly gave him food to eat and cloth to wear but when some people who didn’t know about the kindness shown to the man saw him later during the night, they beat him up, thinking he was one of those kidnappers or evil perpetrators that trouble the community.
“No one can really say whether he was mad or not but what everyone saw was that he didn’t wear cloth, so he is assumed to be mad man”, a resident said.
