Silence From Abductors as Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons Remain Captivity — Family cries out

More than 24 hours after gunmen seized the younger sister of former Power Minister and APC gubernatorial aspirant Chief Adebayo Adelabu along with her twin sons in Ibadan, the abductors have yet to reach out to the family with any demands.

Comrade Femi Awogboro, an aide to Adelabu, confirmed on Wednesday that Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, 43, and her 12-year-old twin boys, Peter and Paul, remain in captivity with no communication received from their captors.

According to Awogboro, the family got word that security agencies are actively working to secure the victims’ release, but the silence from the kidnappers has left everyone on edge. “Since yesterday, the family is unsettled,” he said, adding that the victims’ husband, who is currently outside Nigeria, is deeply distressed but holds out hope that Nigerian security forces will bring his wife and children home safely.
