Soun, Olubadan Demise: Obasanjo Pays Condolence Visit to Oyo Govt

Sequel to the demise of two notable kings in Oyo state, Soun of Ogbomoso and His Imperial Majesty, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji; a former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo today paid a condolence visit to the state government at Agodi Government House Secretariat, Ibadan.

Arriving at about 1:52 p.m., Chief Obasanjo was well received by the Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan on behalf of the State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde.

On his entourage were former SSG, Oyo State, Chief Layiwola Olakojo and Owo Chief, Otunba Oyewole Fashawe.

Chief Obasanjo while paying a visit to the widow of the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, who died in the early hours of Sunday after five years on the throne, prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed monarch and promised his readiness to assist the family whenever the need arises.

He was well recieved by Olubadan’s widow, Rasheedat, and Gbonka Balogun of Ibadan, Nureni Akanbi, who is also an elder brother to Rasheedat.
