The Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, on Monday paid a historic royal visit to the Olubadan-Designate, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Ladoja, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
According to Oba Olaoye, the visit was not just a routine engagement but a significant encounter steeped in tradition, mutual respect, and shared aspirations for the future of both Ibadanland and Ogbomosoland.
Speaking during the visit, the Soun said discussions between the two paramount rulers centered on unity, progress, and the collective destiny of the Yoruba race.
He described the meeting as a moment of joy and fulfillment, reaffirming the long-standing bond between the two ancient cities.
Oba Olaoye expressed confidence that Oba Ladoja, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, would deploy his wealth of experience in administration and governance to drive further development in Ibadanland and Oyo State at large.
He also urged residents and indigenes of Ibadan to give their full support and cooperation to the new monarch.
In his response, Oba Ladoja expressed delight and appreciation over the Soun’s visit, describing it as a gesture that reinforces the cordial relationship between Ibadan and Ogbomoso.
