The National assembly Southwest caucus of People’s Democratic party has unanimously adopted Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde as the overall leader of the zone.
The elected members at the national assembly in a released jointly signed by 17 Senators and House of Representatives members after a meeting held in Abuja on the 26th of August 2020 resolved to pick Seyi Makinde as the southwest national leader.
After the meeting, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted.
- That the leader of the party in the zone is, His excellency, the Executive governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde
- That all PDP related issues in the Zone must be channelled through him as our leader in the Southwest Zone
- That all elected members from the Zone are solidly behind him and will continue to believe in his leadership.
