The missing Jagun of Ayete-land in Ibarapa North Local Government, Chief Shittu Ayuba, has been discovered dead. His lifeless body was found on Thursday at his uncompleted site, three days after he was reported missing by his family.
According to reports, Chief Ayuba left his house in Gbodiko Area of Ayete early in the morning on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, without informing any of his family members about his destination. Witnesses claim that he received a phone call and immediately left on his motorcycle towards Idere. Unfortunately, that was the last time he was seen alive.
“We saw him heading towards Idere, which was unusual for him to leave without informing any family members. We had no information about his sudden disappearance except for the phone call he received, and we are still trying to trace the caller,” said a family source who spoke with Ayete Info on Thursday.
After exhausting all possibilities, the family received a lead to check Chief Ayuba’s uncompleted site along Idere Road. They forced their way in and discovered his lifeless body hanging there.
While some believe that he may have been lured out of his home and murdered before being hanged, others are urging the community to enhance their security measures, as it is alarming for such a prominent figure to die in such a manner.
Residents of the community continue to express shock over the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Chief Ayuba’s death. They describe him as a reserved and easygoing individual.
