U.S-Based Ogbomoso Hotelier, Gbenga Owolabi Killed by Kidnappers, Finally Buried in USA

Late Mr. Gbenga Owolabi, the Ogbomoso-born illustrious son, and a U.S citizen kidnapped and subsequently murdered along with two others in Abaa, Ogbomoso has been buried in the United States.

Recall that Gbenga Owolabi was kidnapped at his hotel in Ogbomoso in August this year along with a female final year student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Rachael Opadele, working in the hotel.

Recall also that the okada operator, Idowu Ajagbe, who conveyed the ransom bearer was killed in cold blood by the kidnappers.

Being a U.S citizen, pathologists from the U.S carried out an autopsy on the body of Gbenga Owolabi recently then at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, but the reports are not made public.

However, according to reports, the US authorities are interested in the matter, but no arrest has been made in connection with the dastardly act.

Owolabi was said to be living in Maryland, United States of America, and recently decided to invest in the hospitality business in Ogbomoso.

The hotel was opened in December 2021 and he was killed a few months after.
