WAEC: Oyo Ministry of Education Collaborates with BCOS, Set to Commence Broadcast of Classroom Videos, Radio Teachings

The Oyo state government, in its efforts to ensure that the Coronavirus pandemic does not disrupt the education system of the state, her Ministry of education in collaboration with BCOS will start broadcast of classroom videos and radio Teachings from mid next week.

According to the Special Assistant to the Oyo state governor on Students’ affairs, Comrade Victor Olojede, in a tweet on Saturday, noted that the classroom tutorial via the broadcast station will help prepare the Oyo state students for their WAEC examinations.

Comrade Victor maintained that the use of media in education provides students with the ability to get more useful information, to connect with learning groups and other educational systems that make education convenient.

He added that media and social network tools afford students and institutions with multiple opportunities to improve learning methods.

You will recall that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has postponed its school certificate examination (WASSCE) for this year, including in Nigeria, until further notice due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic.

The council said a new date for the examination will be communicated to schools and other stakeholders in due course.
