Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, currently in his second term, has left an indelible mark on the state through advancements in education, agribusiness, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development. His first term’s successes were evident when he secured a resounding re-election with 63% of the total votes, while his rivals from other parties divided the remaining votes among themselves. However, as we approach the midpoint of his second term, the question of succession looms large.
Last week, Oyo Affairs shone its spotlight on 46-year-old Bolanle Aminat Sarumi, the only female aspirant to publicly express interest in contesting the 2027 gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
