126-Year-Old Emmanuel Alayande College of Education to Become University as Oyo Assembly Passes Bill into Law

The Oyo State House of Assembly on Wednesday passed the bill to upgrade 126-year-old Emmanuel Alayande College of Education (EACOED), Oyo to a full-fledged University of Education, into law.

The bill, which was passed at the plenary after its clause-by-clause consideration and the committee report on education presented by the Chairman of the House, Hon Oluwafemi Oluwafowokanmi, was laid before the House in a bid to take the institution into law.

According to the Chairman, the university will soon kick off after the ascent of the bill by Governor ‘Seyi Makinde.

In his reaction, the Minority Leader of the Assembly, Hon Asimiyu Alarape, and Hon Kazeem Isiaka congratulated the lawmakers for the passage and expressed the appreciation of the people of Oyo town to the State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde for the Executive bill.
