2023: Makinde, Others in Abuja for PDP Governors Meeting



The executive governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde is set to join other governors under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party for a meeting today in Abuja Nigeria.

The meeting convened by Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State who doubles as the chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, is convened to discuss the zoning formula for the fast-approaching 2023 elections as well as finalise plans for the party’s national convention come October and also elect new national leaders of the party.

The extraordinary meeting was announced in a statement released by Honourable Cyril Maduabum, the Director-General of the forum and it will involve deliberations and strategic planning on the future of the former ruling party.

As contained in the statement “At the meeting, we will discuss Party matters and strategies to reposition the PDP ahead of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party slated for September 9, 2021.

Honourable Maduabum added that “PDP governors further reassure all PDP members stakeholders and the nation of their commitment determination and loyalty in the patriotic task of dislodging the failed APC government that has brought nothing but misery and pain to Nigerians.

Governor Makinde who has had a busy week will be in attendance at the meeting and he is expected to be back in the State when all the deliberations and consultations have been exhausted.
