The hopes of Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC, to get promotion from the Nigeria National League, NNL to the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, is looking brighter.
The Oluyole soccer lords, as they are fondly called, salvaged a point in neighboring Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, where they confronted Nilayo FC In week 4 of the NNL.
3SC had won games at home against Go Round FC and Osun United and one away game against Abia Comet before today’s game.
The Ibadan side had opened the scoresheet in the 45th minutes when Taiwo Muritala finished off a well laid pass from Adebayo Abayomi to put the team in a lead. The homers equalized not long after the second half started. It was 1-1 until Mohammed Mohammed slotted in a goal but the referee who had initially counted a goal for the visitor changed his mind when the assistant referee raised his flag, for an offside.
The game, which ended 1-1, saw the commissioner for youth and sports, Mr. Seun Fakorede and fans of the club who came in large number to rock city, cheering the Ibadan side from the beginning to the end.
