Oyo Assembly Mourns as Hon. Modiu Akande Loses Mother

The Oyo State House of Assembly has mourned the passing of Alhaja Kudirat Titilayo Akande, mother of one of them, Hon. Modiu Opeyemi Akande (Allahbamusa), representing Ibadan South East 1.

Alhaja Kudirat Titilayo Akande died at the age of 80.

The condolence message was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Media, Public Affairs and ICT, Hon. Waheed Akintayo Ilumoka.

The message reads in part;

“The entire leadership of the Oyo State House of Assembly commiserates with member representing Ibadan South East 1 State Constituency, Hon. Modiu Opeyemi Akande and his entire family on the death of their mother. It is an irreparable loss. May Almighty Allah grant the deceased Al-Jannah Firdaus and comfort the family during this difficult time.

“The loss of a parent is huge, and we can only imagine the depth of pain and sorrow that Hon. Akande and his family must be feeling at this moment. Mama was a great mother, a pillar of strength, and a shining example of love, care, and devotion. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled.”

The deceased will be buried today according to Islamic rites at her husband’s house, Felele Rab junction, Baba Allahbamusa’s house.

“Unfortunately, Hon. Akande is currently in Ottawa, Canada, attending a Legislative Leadership training, and we pray that Almighty Allah grants him the strength to bear this loss.

“We pray that the soul of the departed rests in peace and that her legacy continues to inspire her family and loved ones.” .
