Makinde Nominates Ladipo as Commissioner, Okays Fresh Appointments

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has nominated the Permanent Secretary, General Administration, Dr. Olabode Taiwo Ladipo, for appointment as a commissioner, while also approving a number of key appointments into strategic positions in the state.

The nomination of Dr. Ladipo was conveyed to the Oyo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

The statement disclosed that the governor also appointed Arc. Ifeoluwa Akande as Chairman of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade Committee, Hon. Isola Abiodun Adekunle as Executive Adviser on Intra-Party Affairs, and Hon. Oladejo Emmanuel Oladokun as a Part-Time Member of the Local Government Service Commission.

The appointments were contained in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, and are scheduled to take effect from July 1, 2026.

Governor Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedicated service, loyalty and commitment to the administration’s developmental agenda.

The governor expressed optimism that the newly appointed officials would bring their experience and expertise to bear in advancing good governance and strengthening public service delivery across the state.

In a related development, Governor Makinde has approved the reappointment of the Chairman and members of the Governing Council of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.

According to another statement issued by the governor’s media office, Prof. Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi has been reappointed as Chairman of the Governing Council.

Prof. Adebiyi was initially appointed on March 24, 2025, to complete the tenure of the late Professor Abiodun Adebowale Ojo, who passed away in 2025.

Other members reappointed to the council are Hon. Johnson Oladele, Alhaji Azeem Badmus, Engr. Oyetayo Ige, Mrs. Alice Adedokun and Mr. Waziri Adekunle.

The reappointments were also communicated through a letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.

Governor Makinde congratulated the chairman and members on their renewed appointments and charged them to continue working assiduously towards the growth and development of the institution.

The appointments are expected to take effect from July 1, 2026.
