The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his running mate, Muftau Open Salawu, have continued their statewide thank-you tour, visiting party leaders, stakeholders and executives in Ogbomosho North, Ogbomosho South and Oriire Local Government Areas to call for unity and renewed commitment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the engagements, Adekanmbi thanked party faithful for their support and confidence following his emergence as the APM governorship candidate, describing members as the backbone of the party’s growing strength across the state.
He commends their dedication and sacrifices, urging them to remain united and work collectively towards strengthening the party’s structures statewide, noting that building a formidable political platform requires harmony, cooperation and a shared commitment to the party’s ideals.
Adekanmbi also restates his vision for Oyo State, saying his administration, if elected, would prioritise inclusive governance, economic development, quality education, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure and improved social welfare. He urges party leaders and supporters to remain steadfast in pursuing what he describes as the collective goal of building a prosperous, secure and equitable state.
The APM flag bearer also raises concern over the recent kidnapping incident in Oriire Local Government Area, calling it another sign of the growing security challenges confronting communities across the country. He recalls an earlier visit to the area to commiserate with affected families and again extends condolences to the family of the slain mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, praying for the repose of his soul and strength for his loved ones. Adekanmbi further prays for the safe and immediate release of the pupils and teachers still in captivity, expressing hope for their reunion with their families.
Other APM candidates on the tour included Shina Peller, candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District; John Oke Abioye, for Ogbomosho North, Ogbomosho South and Oriire Federal Constituency; Sanjo Adedoyin, for Ogbomosho South State Constituency; Bunmi Oluranti, for Ogbomosho North State Constituency; and Akinola Johnson Ogundele, for Oriire State Constituency.
